Hi. Summer is half over, it's gone too fast. For 'fun', I got my A1C test results for last 8 yrs or so - not all but many - and plotted them on a graph. It shows that my excellent dr. got me under control real fast, and I've had some peaks and troughs, but nothing too severe - since then. At right at the optimal control level now, but still too fat at 100 lbs too much. I bought the Wii game console for exercise, and when I get a chance to use it, it works great to lower my blood sugar level. I play baseball, bowling, golf, tennis and boxing at a very low level, but it's a lot more fun than straight exercise or walking in my boring neighbourhood. The baseball and tennis are tough to progress with - I used to play both team sports a bit, but my skill level is low. The game is very challenging. Boxing is the best work out. I'm not trying to sell anything, but if you're like me and absolutely hate exercise but like sports, then Wii is a good way to burn sugar and build some muscle. It makes you laugh out loud and shout and swear just like real sports! 15 -30 mins is enough, cept for bowling. You move a lot in all the sports and you can practice your skills. We were going to buy a treadmill, but for my weight, we need 3.5 hp, which means a cost of $3500 - so $300 of Wii plus a game or so looks pretty good, plus it's still fun for others. Stay tuned on this. I'm looking into some kind of adopt a t2d in my area, whereby I would pay a monthly amount for meds or testing equip for a t2d that can't afford it, and doesn't have suppl. coverage. Our medicare doesn't cover diabetic supplies for t2d's.
Above photo are portables at the Daytona 500 this year! Nice eh?
Keep healthy!
